Villa Cipressi, Lake Como Wedding Photography | Vicky & Paul
It’s funny out things work out sometimes. I was chatting via email to Vicky and Paul about their Lake Como wedding, and we decided to meet up. Turns out as Paul walked through the door we both recognised each other from our university course in Leeds. It’s a small world sometimes.
What plans did they have? Well the aim was for a relaxed wedding in Lake Como. They had found the beautiful Hotel Villa Cipressi in the lakeside town of Varenna. The town is a lovely little fishing village, with stunning views across the lake to Bellagio, as well as ferries and a train station to Milan. Perfect for an Italian destination wedding.
It turned out to be interesting day weather wise, the ceremony held overlooking the lake, in the wonderful Italian sun. The service held in Italian and English, was the perfect intimate service, finished with a flower petal confetti tunnel. However, straight after the heavens opened and oh boy did it rain. That wasn’t going to stop the fun, running instead for bottomless prosecco and massive antipasti and cake feast. The rain disappeared as soon as it arrived.
Just as the guests took their seats I had a walk with Vicky and Paul around the gardens, and down to a spot where we could capture some portraits on the edge of Lake Como. The wedding breakfast was a full multi-course feast finished off with speeches. Including Paul doing his in Italian (translated by the best man for those non-Italian speakers).
As the evening processed there was more cake served inside Villa Cipressi, well for those who still had room. Making the most of the little side streets I went for a short walk with Vicky and Paul to shoot a few evening portraits in Varenna.
Lake Como Wedding Photography | Villa CipressiVarenna was the perfect spot for a Lake Como Wedding, although with so many beautiful locations Italy is an amazing location for a destination wedding.
